Beware the Shopocalypse!!

Shannon and I watched the documentary, "What Would Jesus Buy?" last weekend. I heard good things about it when it came out in the theater last year, but I never got around to seeing it.

If you get a chance, try to pick it up. It's surprisingly entertaining--we laughed out loud at several points--and very educational. Some of the facts and supporting stories of consumerism will absolutely shock you. Check out the film website: http://wwjbmovie.com/

Whatever you do...see it before Black Friday!

I was talking to a really good friend of mine tonight...on the phone. He asked how your church was going. I told him it wasn't really a church as much as it was a mission. He started laughing HARD! and I was saying, "What? What's so funny?" But all i could hear was him ROLLING on the other end of the line, at what I'd said. I finally started to figure out what was so funny. He just kept saying, "Dude that is hilarious...not a church; a mission. Oh my gosh that's hilarious! That's like saying, 'it's not so much a hospital as it is a place where we help sick people.'"

Just thought I'd share that. Still got some of the old thinking in me.
